Rán

Ok sem kvað Rán
på svallande vågor
ok sem kvað Rán
mot ljus och eldar
ok sem kvað Rán
på svallande vågor
ok sem kvað Rán
mot ljus och eldar

Gull är kastad
två har rytande tungan
två har längtande hjärta
att hennes nio bjärta döttrar
Gull är kastad

När hon börjar spela
vägen spelar, vinden viskar
Lyssnar till all hennes kvad
När hon börjar spela
vägen spelar, vinden viskar

Ok sem kvað Rán
På svallande vågor
Ljuset flammar och smälta i ro
över asarnas långa kammar
Eld Ægis, Ránar vegr
Eld Ægis, Ránar vegr

Livets stora hunger
stiger stark och god
och mitt sommar blod sjunger
Livets stora hunger
stiger stark och god
och mitt sommar blod sjunger

Ok sem kvað Rán
på svallande vågor
ok sem kvað Rán
mot ljus och eldar

She definitely says "möt" not "mot" and I hear "ord" not "kvad" which makes much more sense with the "hennes"

Her accent is really funny

I actually verified the lyrics with her. She explained that she composed the song herself, but admitted she is from the Netherlands and is not fluent in Swedish.
The song is written as if it were all in the same style as "Skáldskaparmál".
As a native dutch speaker she has problems transitioning from hennes to kvad.
The transliteration of the sentence is "Listen to all that she sings."
The Old Norse word "kvað" comes from the infinitive verb "kveða" meaning to quote or to speak.
There was perhaps some confusion as to the meaning of "kvað" and the similarity it shares with the Swedish word "kvad" which actually gets its common root from "kveðandi" meaning the recital of a song.

Hennes is if she owns something though. It's saying "hers." But it makes sense if the singer isn't Swedish.

Just thought I would contribute what I heard. :)

Either way it's a really pretty song

If you're singing a song hennes still works. :)

"Lyssna på hennes sång" -> "Listen as she sings"

I'm still learning this, so I probably shouldn't input as much as I do lol

Yes, kvad is when you sing/quote/recite a kväde, it's a specific way of singing.

No sweat, it was a huge learning curve for me as well, that's why I gave it to a native Swedish speaker to proof read and correct.
I think it is a beautiful song as well. So much so that I just had to transcribe and translate it. :)

I don't blame you. I'd do the same!
