They are denying access because they consider translations to be derivative work covered by copyright. I'll never pay a penny for his songs again.
It's not Stromae's fault you know, it's his label's fault. I'm pretty sure Stromae doesn't even know about it and wouldn't agree with that.

I'm pretty sure Stromae don't know about it. It's like when Vald made a video clip entirely on a green background on purpose so that people could change the clip to their liking. His label started to strike fan-made videos and Vald was not happy at all.

That's the law. Owners of copyrighted material can very well deny the right to anyone to create derivative works like translations.
