Yes, there is a difference between the two translations, and I believe it is sufficient.
At first, I always translate the Russian lyrics into English “as it is”. I’m trying to make my translation as close to the original as possible, not adding or subtracting anything. No rhymes, no rhythm, no nothing. I’m one of those people who likes raw literal (yet still understandable and readable) translation, when looking at the lyrics written on the language I don’t understand. This is essential for those who, for example, are learning the language and are trying to understand how it works.
However, sometimes I feel like I could create some kind of singable lyrics or translyrics. So this is the case here. In my singable translations, I allow myself more freedom to interpret the original text. I'm trying to keep the main ideas, but the form may differ drastically.
