Running with the Devil is one of the tracks that belonged to Johnson's shelved debut album intended for release back in 2008. The original studio version from those sessions can still be found here: https://soundcloud.com/alexzjohnsononline/running-with-the-devil?in=alex.... Since then, Johnson has reworked the track and released it on her 2020 album Still Alive. The lyrics here enlisted belong to the new version.

*The Epic master also had a different ending which said:

It's okay, never really wanna stay where you stay,

when you really wanna run.

It's okay, you don't really need to stay where you stay,
