The Void
Standing before an old decrepit gate, I enter.
Stepping into the unknown depths below,
The place where the light has long escaped.
How can I hope for a miracle if I have lost faith?
Desperately searching for something to cling on to,
yet there's nothing that my hand could reach.
Wandering aimlessly in the pitch-dark coldness,
how long it has been now, could be days or years?
I keep roaming these unknown lands, knowing that,
all of it is mine to keep, as I have chosen this path.
Everything has a price and I paid mine dearly,
finding solace among thousands of wasted lives.

Devant un portail décrépit, j'avance.
J'entre dans des profondeurs inconnues de moi,
Où la lumière a disparu d'avance.
Comment espérer un miracle si j'ai perdu la foi ?
Désespéré, je cherche quelque chose pour m'accrocher,
mais il n'y a rien que ma main puisse attraper.
Errant sans but dans la froideur et l'obscurité,
combien de temps maintenant, des jours ou des années ?
Je continue dans ces contrées inconnues, et je sais
que je ne puisse arrêter en ayant choisi ce chemin là.
Tout a un prix, et le mien a déjà été cher payé,
Réconforté dans les vies brisées par milliers, ici bas.

C'est ma seconde traduction de poème avec rimes sur ce site. J'ai cherché à préserver au maximum le texte original, seulement il m'a fallu légèrement déplacer ou supprimer quelques mots (j'ai veillé à ne pas déformer le poème).

I was a bit sad to see it was already translated in French but there are no rhymes, and I wanted to make some rhymes, here too!
Again, the main text is the same, I just compressed a few words, but I didn't alter your original text.
