Crazy
Crazy
that's what my friends call me
who are only witness
of my easy virtue
Crazy
they do not know what I feel
nor about the remorse
that hides in my soul.
I have to mask with cheerfulness
all my sadness
and to dispel all the nightmares
that are in my head
By laughter I have to quench
the sorrows that would eat me up
when my heart weeps
my lips must smile.
Even if I feel contempt for a man
I have to dissimulate love
and admiration when he is stupid
and when he is a coward show fear
Me, who I have not belonged
to where I belong now,
have to forget now who I have been
have to forget now who I am.

Hola acker, thank you for answering my request. I want to make a couple comments to bring it up to perfection:
1. First verse (line) - "That's what my friends call me" (change the order of words)
2. "easy virtue" ? ("light love") Original!
3. Second stanza, third verse - "hides" (third person)
4. Third stanza, third verse - "and"
5. Last stanza, second verse - I think it is "simulate" (pretend)
6. Fifth verse - "Me, who hasn't belonged..." Leave it in third person, to go with "who".
&. Last two verses - "...what I have been/what I am".
My suggestions are just suggestions. It's up to you to follow them.
Hola roster 31. Thanks for your suggestions
ad1:agreed
ad2: formal expression for "a slut" liviano=lascivious, superficial
ad3: remorse being uncountable, so agreed
ad4: sloppy misprint
ad5: simulate or dissimulate does not make a difference, pretend is not a bad choice I guess
ad6+7:no change necessary I guess.
Thank you. It sounds pretty good.
