Όποιος εν ζωή είναι καλός στη γη,

μετά θάνατον γίνετ' άγγελος.

Με το βλέμμα προς τον ουρανό τότε ρωτάς

γιατί δεν μπορεί κανείς να τους δει.

Μόνο όταν τα σύννεφα πάνε για ύπνο,

μπορεί κανείς να μας δει,

φοβόμαστε κι είμαστε μόνοι.

Ο Θεός ξέρει, δε θέλω να είμαι άγγελος.

Ζούνε πίσω απ' το φως του ήλιου

χώρια από μας, απείρως μακρυά.

Πρέπει να αρπάζονται απ' τ' άστρα (πολύ δυνατά)

για να μην πέσουν απ' τον ουρανό.
