...and don’t feel ready for - for what? -> just 'don't feel ready'
to be overcome (by) - von etw. überwältigt werden (to overcome = etw. bewältigen)
quitness - quietness
And the sea stand still never -> the sea never stands still (/never stops moving)
So free you up - sounds strange :-) I'd say 'Get involved'
und einmal mehr nach vorne schauen - look forward one more time

Two questions and one note, please take a look
“And the waves all around, they are building us up and knocking us down.” It’s right?
And:
“And are simply floating towards the horizon.”
Or have I use an “we” additional? "And we are simply floating towards the horizon."
Can I omit “we”? Would it be really correct?
„look forward one more time“ I got struggled about: “Ein mal MEHR nach vorne schauen” But I don’t know how to catch it exactly. Normally I would say: “Noch einmal“ or “Wieder” but they used: “Mehr” I think this is verry special. That’s why I made this construct: ”And see forward for one more time more than backwards“ But if this isn’t a common use I would say it isn’t necessary to figure out more. The meaning is nearly the same.

(Bin kein Muttersprachler - es gibt sicher Alternativen - Vorschläge immer willkommen ?)
Wir haben das Segeln nur verlernt - und treiben einfach so Richtung Horizont.
We only have forgot (/forgotten) how to sail - and are simply floating towards the horizon.
Die beiden Sätze hängen ja zusammen, das 'we' kann deshalb im zweiten weggelassen werden... so wie das im Deutschen ja auch der Fall ist.
one MORE time - ein mal MEHR ? :-)
Die Alternativen, die Du genannt hast ('noch einmal', 'wieder') würden für mich den Sinn und die Übersetzung nicht verändern.
Alternative auf Englisch wäre 'once more' (was vielleicht noch besser klingt)
Hey Corrl, na klar zweifel ich. ;-))) Wenn du das so sagst, dann mache ich das so. Wollt nur nochmal sicher gehen.
Ich hatte das Gefühl, sobald ich "are" benutze muss auch ein "we" oder "you" davor. Ich muss mal bei den nächsten englisch deutsch Übersetzungen drauf achten... .
One more time again würde ja dann auch gehen. Aber bei mir war das Interpretiert. Mehr nach vorne schaun als zurück. Beides würde das nicht mehr rüber bringen.
Noch mal zum Unsicher: Das bin ich sehr, fange gerade erst an von Deutsch zu Englisch. Meine Frühen Englisch zu Deutsch Übersetzungen habe ich mit einem fluenten Mitbewohner gemacht. Der ist aber leider wieder weg.
