It's a bit difficult since it's not a whole sentence in German but it seems to rather mean "intend" than "think".
"To humor everyone.": That's a dictionary translation I found for "allen nach dem Munde reden". The other dictionary translations were "to play to everyone" and "to tell everyone what they want to hear". Would one of these translations be better?
"decorous": Ah, that's it with dictionary translations, you never know whether the words are actually used that way.
But is "proper" not a bit too imprecise? A "proper song" to me seems to be a song written by someone who knows how to write songs, and not a song that doesn't contain anything unseemly or any criticism.
"can also mean": I was unsure about that anyway. Thanks.
I'll change that then.
If "decorous" is at least technically correct I'll leave it that way for now.
