[@Ivan U7n] due to duplicate merging (or other stuff, even bugs), there can be a request open for a language into which a song has already been translated. I have marked that request as closed now, so your comment was removed.
Juan i'm not the one to judge your decissions but if a second translation request is made for the same language it can also be because the first translated one isn't a quality one ...Some people even though they don't fully understand a language they know some parts of it so they do a second request ... Edit If this was merged there is also a posibility that the person who has made that request didn't know that it's already here ...
I second this statement: there are a lot of translators that have almost no idea of a particular language and yet they go ahead and translate. I have come across some translations that Google would have done a better job. It seems like they use this site for practicing hoping that someone will offer free corrections. Some guidelines for this should be included in the rules.
I know there are many possibilities, even users can request an alternative translation to the existent one since recently. But as I saw the request in the Site activity box, it was recent. And usually users just don't notice the existent one, thus the question. And it was the case here:
