Pecado
Yo sé si es prohibido,
Si no tiene perdón,
Si me lleva al abismo,
Sólo sé que es amor.
Yo no sé si este amor es pecado que tiene castigo,
Si es faltar a las leyes honradas del hombre y de Dios;
Aunque sea pecado
Te quiero, te quiero lo mismo.
Aunque todo me niegue el derecho
Me aferro a este amor.
Sin
I don't know if it's forbidden
Nor if I'll be forgiven
If it will drag me down to Hell
I only know -- it is love.
I don't know if it's a sin that will be punished
If it's lawless in the eyes of Man or God
I only know my soul is caught in the whirlwind of blind passion, it overcomes me again and again in your arms
Stronger than my own self,
Than my life, my faith, my fate
Stronger than my fear of death itself
And even my awe of God
And though it be a sin
I love you, I love you all the more
And though I can claim no right to your love
I must stand by my love, for you
.
I only know my soul is caught in the whirlwind of blind passion, it overwhelms me again and again in your arms
Stronger than my own self,
Than my soul, my faith, my fate
Stronger than my fear of death itself
And even my awe of God
And though it be a sin
I love you, I love you all the more
And though I can claim no right to your love
I must stand by my love, for you

Hi Steve, where have you been?
You are right about the lyrics. I took it for grated and I didn't listen to the whole song. I could edit the original but, since you have done the translation according to the lyrics posted, and provided the right video, I'll delete the old one.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for your kind comments, I work retail, so Christmas season kind of killed all my free time.
.
Please don't delete your original video! I see lyricstranslate as kind of a wiki of song lyrics; alternate lyrics are an information resource, not a problem! It gives future performers a wider stylistic choice.
.
But I was having trouble hearing the alternate lyrics -- casi sordo, and all -- if I had been able to get them, I would have transcribed and translated them myself. I hear something about his love being so strong that it imbues him with his own pride of life, but I'm not sure.
Sorry Steve. Now I ended up with two videos. The one I just posted is in youtube. Could you eliminate yours? I don't know how to do it.
Thanks again.
Concerning the lyrics, there is a line
"Sólo sé que es amor. "
But I keep hearing the word "creo" in there.
Trading places.
Shall I leave yours and post back the other?
You did it! We'll leave it that way!
Sepúlveda, the 'bolerista' of my homeland!
Beautiful translation of an old, reminiscent song.
muchiisimas gracias
Looking into a source for his alternate lyrics, I found that was not his original name:
"Jorge Sepúlveda was born in 1917 in València, València, Comunitat Valenciana, Spain as Luis Sancho Monleón. He died in 1983 in Palma, Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain."

Gracias, Steve, but I know everything about Sepúlveda: He worked, most of his life in Santander, my homeland, when I was growing up, and he made famous the boleros "Mirando al mar" and "Santander" (among others) which, by the way, are already translated in LT. You can take a look. And, also, Look at this:
