En algún lugar de Pensilvania, Anne Mirak trabaja como ayudante del sol.

Ella está en el oficio desde que tiene memoria.

Al fin de cada noche, Anne alza sus brazos y empuja al sol, para que irrumpa en el cielo; y al fin de cada día, bajando los brazos, acuesta al sol en el horizonte.

Era muy chiquita cuando empezó esta tarea y jamás ha faltado a su trabajo (porque ella sabe que el sol la necesita).

Hace medio siglo, la declararon loca.

Desde entonces, Anne ha pasado por varios manicomios, ha sido tratada por numerosos psiquiatras y ha engullido muchísimas pastillas.

Nunca consiguieron curarla.

Menos mal.

The Sun

Somewhere in Pennsylvania, Anne Mirak works as a sun helper.

She has been working in this job for as long as she can remember.

At the end of each night, Anne raises her arms and pushes the sun so that it explodes in the sky; and at the end of each day, Anne lowers her arms and puts the sun to sleep far over the horizon.

Anne was very young when she started this job and never missed a day of work (because she knew, the sun needed her).

Half a century ago, Anne was declared insane.

Since then, she has been in several insane asylums, has been treated by numerous psychiatrists, and swallowed many, many pills.

All these never succeeded in curing her.

Thank God.
