La blessure

The wound

I kept your scratch,
Since I loved it too much
It's nothing but a scratch
It's nothing more than a fragment
So if by chance
You're looking for it again
I kept your scratch
Since I loved it too much

I kept your bite mark
Above my bones
The pretty signature
Left there on my skin
I'll give it back to you of course
If you miss it
I kept your bite mark
Above my bones

Whatever the wound
It doesn't show too much
It's necessarily the wear and tear
I do what is needed
To keep looking good
On the days when the weather is fine
Whatever the wound
It doesn't show too much

I kept your burn mark
Since it keeps me warm
There under the covers
When I sleep on my back
It's for you, I swear
If the temperature drops below zero,
I kept your burn mark
Since it keeps me warm

Whatever the wound
It doesn't show too much
It's must be the wear and tear
I do what is needed
To keep looking good
On the days when the weather is fine
Whatever the wound
It doesn't show too much

I kept the graze
I won't cry any more
I put the bite away
In the top drawer
Far from "splatters"
Protected from chaos
I kept the graze
I won't cry any more

I kept your insults
In the fold of a coat
On any wall
On the bottom of the tables
If you ever murmur,
Or if you miss a word
I kept your wound
It doesn't show too much

Whatever the wound...

This was very difficult to translate as quite a lot of it was weird to the English ear. I tried my best to translate, please give me any suggestions you may have too!

It's necessarily the wear and tear: I'd say 'It must be the...'

Other than that, good job :)

Thanks for your suggestion, I've changed the lyric and I do admit it seems a lot better now.

Thank you :)
