Translator from Canada with a strong interest in languages.

I grew up in a multilingual environment from a very early age and also have a certificate in translation from French into English from the University of Toronto.

Other languages I have a grasp of – to varying yet functional degrees – are Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Italian.

I also dabbled into and have some understanding of – again, to varying degrees – Cantonese, Catalan, Dutch, Portuguese, and several others. While I might feel up to the task of translating some very basic songs in these languages, I won't be listing them in my Languages section as my knowledge of these languages is still too basic to go beyond simple sentences at the moment.

Please note that my translations are for educational/informational purposes and should not be automatically taken as an endorsement or approval of the message of the works I have translated. The same applies for song lyrics I add – I may sometimes add lyrics on request from other users or individuals who have not officially filed a transcription request.

Translation is an art, not an exact science – if you feel one of my translations would benefit from some stylistic improvements or corrections, please feel free to point them out in the comments. Constructive criticism is always appreciated and I am always seeking to improve.
