و مشينا عرنين السرج
و حنين و ليل و عرس
وين رايحين ؟ عالي هالبرج
و الصوت ينادي : وين الغايبين ؟
سنين ما تعلمنا الدرس
موعودين بطريق الشمس
داب التلج، لا عرس و لا طحين
سيف و ترس رايحين جايين
و جبال صخرا مكسور
للرجال تعمرها قصور
بغلال حلما مأسور
شيّال شعبي يا مقهور
و موال يغني عالي عالي عالي
بإيدك العرس و الدف
بكرة الوجع بيخف
و تطلع ولاد تلف
تلف القدس بحرير غالي
و عالبال، قمح و بخور
و أطفال يغمرها النور
و تغمرنا بنور

And we have been walking, following the jingle of the saddle
With nostalgia at night-time, and a bride in waiting
Where are we going? The tower is enormous
And the voice is calling out: Where are the lost (loved) ones?
Years, we haven't heeded the calls
Made by the path of the sun
Till the snow melted down, there is no matrimony, and no flour
Just sword and shield, clashing back and forth forever
And mountains of broken boulders
Used by men to erect palaces
Their aspirations bound by chains
Exhausted, my people carrying the heavy pain1
And a song will be sung, loud and louder and louder
In your hand the tambourine2 and the matrimony
Tomorrow the pain will ease
And children will go around to seize
And encircle al-Quds3 with precious silk
And on my mind, wheat and incense
And children, immersed by light
And they enfold us with light
