Cada persona brilla
con luz propia entre todas las demás.
No hay dos fuegos iguales.
Hay fuegos grandes y fuegos chicos
y fuegos de todos colores.
Hay gente de fuego sereno
que ni siquiera se entera del viento,
y gente de fuego loco
que llena el aire de chispas.
Algunos fuegos, fuegos bobos
que no alumbran ni queman,
pero otros arden la vida
con tantas ganas que no se
puede mirarlos sin parpadear,
y quien se acerca se enciende.

Every human being shines
with its own light among all the others.
No two fires are alike.
There are big fires and small fires
and fires of all colours.
There are people of serene fire
who don't even notice the wind
and there are people of crazy fire
who fill the air with sparks.
Some fires are silly fires
that neither light nor burn,
but others burn life
with such avidity that you cannot
look at them without blinking,
and whoever approaches them lights up.
