PS. This term originated as an offensive and contemptuous term used to describe a member of a Pentecostal sect whose worship services are characterized by intense excitement.

уничижительное или пренебрежительное именование члена какой-либо христианской религиозной конфессии (направления, секты), выражающего религиозный духовный пыл экстатическим или неистовым образом, с криками и резкими телодвижениями.
Примеры: "святоша-припадочный", "бесноватый".
PS. исторически возникло как оскорбительный, презрительный термин для обозначения члена пятидесятнической секты, богослужения в которой отличаются неистовым возбуждением во время службы.
