Charm

I don't want to meet you
Even one more time
This is my life Don't you understand?
I'm still caught up in a dream
I want you to hold me, but...

My growing hair, tied up with a ribbon
I clutch onto the fingers that untied it for me

I still want to love you over anyone else
Believe, even if it's in a dream
For your sake, I'll forget it all tomorrow
I still want to love you over anyone else
Love you, even in my dreams
To whom do those eyes belong now?

Bringing it back
The waning moon
Just waiting around is painful now
Your indecisive eyes
Do they do nothing but hesitate?

I put scissors into my growing hair
Will you still praise me? Even when I'm like this?

Rather than begging for love, naturally, as is,
I want to be how you desired me
I still want to love you over anyone else
Believe, even if it's in a dream
For your sake, I'll forget it all tomorrow

I still want to love you over anyone else
Love you, even in my dreams
To whom do those eyes belong now?
Though it's not me, who always lets herself be spoiled
Did you love me even when I was weak?

Kommentare des Autors:

This song is generally written in what I'd consider to be more feminine language, as many of the formulations are more polite and indirect (e.g. "分かるでしょ?" / "wakaru desho?" instead of "分かるだろう?" / "wakaru darou?") and one line in the refrain culminates in the feminine ending particle "わ" / "wa" ("明日には忘れてあげる" / "asu ni wa wasurete ageru wa"). Because of this, it's likely the lyrical narrator is meant to be a woman.

Aside from this, I have just one annotation:

"no more than this"
