Catherine

Catherine

Catherine, Catherine, we were ten years old
Do you remember, Catherine, at school*?
I offered you my tartines** and my chocolates
With my heart, Catherine, already in love.

And when night closed the school
My child's heart would break
You left me alone with my heartache
You were dreaming of Prince Charming

If I laughed, Catherine, it was because in my heart
There were laughs, Catherine, sad as tears

Where are you and Prince Charming,
Have you finally found him?
There will always be our hearts and names
Carved in the kindergarten's tree.

Catherine, Catherine, in the school
Catherine, Catherine, we were 10 years old

Catherine, Catherine, I often dream
In front of others Catherine at school
Catherine, Catherine and after all this time
I am waiting for you, Catherine, as before
At school, Catherine...

* Tartines: They are slices of bread... ^^
** Jardin d'enfants: Kindergarten... but they are ten... it didn't make sense...

I am trying to do it well, but please if someone find any mistakes tell me :) I'm up to improve!

"in the school" => "at school"

"with my heart" => "along with my heart" or "with all my heart" (Or are you trying to convey both meanings at once? Then leave as is. :))

"you were dreaming about a charming prince" => Or "you were dreaming of Prince Charming" (which is an idiom in English)

"If I laughed Catherine, was because in my heart" => "If I laughed, Catherine, it was because in my heart"

"Where were you and the charming prince" => "Where are you..."

"have you already found him?" => Closer to the original would be "Have you finally found him?" or "Have you eventually found him?"

"and despite the time" => "and after all this time" (your translation is literal but it's not how you'd say it in English)

"I wait for you Catherine as before" => "I'm waiting for you..."
