Tiếng Anh request for "ಕನ್ನಡ (Kannada)"

The language should actually be Kannada or Kanarese and it is spoken in India, their area is Karnataka.

"Below" the video there was commented that it's a a poem called "ಬಾರಿಸು ಕನ್ನಡ" by Kuvempu (ಕುವೆಂಪು). Somewhere else there was hinted that it is a patriotic song or at least has/had a patriotic meaning behind it, so if anyone can shade light upon it, it would be very welcomed : ))
I'd also very much like to know who the featured artist is.
