The original text is a bit ambiguous, but I think the verbs all are imperatives.
So, it should be "proteged" and "vengad".
You also made a typo: "desconocido", and "ángeles" normally is written with an accent.

Thank you for the criticism. It didn't even cross my mind to use imperative form for the first line as it could be read as saints are already protecting whoever the subject of the song is. That being said; I do appreciate your input! My Spanish is by no means perfect.

Edit: though I think that protejan and vengan (as already used) would be appropriate as well because growing up with the Mexican dialect vosotros never really crosses my mind. Conceding to the first of the line of the song, you have a point :)

You are welcome. I thought about suggesting using the Latin American imperatives, but I didn't know which Spanish you use here.
But, shouldn't it then nevertheless be "venguen" instead of "vengan"? My Spanish is certainly not better than yours, but "vengan" at least in European Spanish means "they/you come" and not "come!".

I wouldn't think so? At least in Latin spanish, the only time to change to a "gue" stem is if it's in the past tense. For formal commands, one changes the verb to the first person, drop the 'o', and add the opposite ending. So, venir, vengo, veng, vengan.

I wouldn't think it would be so different as comparing European Spanish to Latin Spanish is like comparing American English to UK English. Although, I'm still learning la lengua de Los Españoles, so I could be wrong.

Sorry, I confused it with another, similar verb. You are right.
