うつつ (typically written with the 現 kanji as 現つ) can mean both "reality" and "consciousness" in English. Wowaka's name used for his earlier vocaloid projects was 現実逃避Ｐ (Escape from Reality-P). As wowaka's passing was sudden and shocking news to everyone, people wished it was a dream or a lie. It unfortunately is not.
