Adapt

You are a sea and me, a drop
You are a mountain and me, a rock
All in all, you are good, I'm bad
I'm the very one who doesn't get the world
In this world, in which one is a king and the other slave
I'm alive for the sake of my heart
And it is happy about what it has done
It's me and a clear sky, it's become a roof for the houses
It's me and a pen and paper and the hands behind the curtain
I'm the inexperienced (lit. raw) boyo
The weirdo/dishonored1 son of my father
As for this, I don't even give flying care that today is Friday or Tuesday2
Screw the sorrows, I'll reach what I deserve
Although I may have been crushed in my life,
Regardless, it will eventually end with laughter
It's me and my voice
This is my voice/echo that will be in my place (will be my legacy)
As for me, I'm a goner and after I'm gone, it'll get clear who is/got the right3
It's me and the straight earth
I'll walk and it slowly spins under my feet
Life is hard, but notice that I'm happy
With this uncovered face
With this "red tongue and green head" (careless tongue that says whatever regardless of the dangers4), I declare again that I'm a "Rogue/Renegade" ("The Credit of Persian Rap" and "Rogue/Renegade" are two aliases for Bahram)
Regardless, notice that I am happy
I didn't even dream that a once upon a time in the future times
I stare at the eyes of my problems and tell them that I'm glad (too have met them)
Sigh that the stupid you is happy for my hard days
When you see my happiness you'll burn meanwhile I'm in the next step
It's me and this innocent body
I write under the moonlight
Never even regretted the things that I have done
It's me and this broken mind (rowdy behavior)
It's me and this glass of wine
It's me and this words that come out of my heart
Only with a single smile, a lot of problems can be fixed
Only if there won't be people like you to "spill salt on my wound" (insult the injury)
Tell me, which side of the door is Home5
What's the difference, I don't know
When the story reaches its end, I'm the very "Homeless Crow"6
It's me and the straight earth
I'll walk and it slowly spins under my feet
Life is hard, but notice that I'm happy
With this uncovered face
With this "red tongue and green head", I declare again that I'm a "Rogue/Renegade"
Regardless, notice that I am happy
Everybody is a stranger (alienated) to the other
They just closed their eyes and sprung (like sheep/cattle around a field. Just to kill/waste time and not to care about anything)
People pass next to each other (near miss) but they didn't even see each other
They call each other "Darling"/"Dear"
But maybe it's just natural (not intentional, preprogrammed)
They just wanna sleep on each other to realize there is a male and female (category)
It's me among lies and deceptions
It's me like a carousel
Like my humanoid friends, I looped/cycled around myself (not knowing what I'm doing)
It's me in this canvas filled with colors
I'ts me in this "Peach" which is just like a "War" (two other tracks of the album)
In this life which is just like death
In search for the truth
After this polluted/smoky city
After this "Cyan Dome" (the sky)
Maybe they will forgive me a pair of wings and a place to leap7
My brothers and sisters
In other words, this very bad people, killed my life but me,...
It's me and the straight earth
I'll walk and it slowly spins under my feet
Life is hard, but notice that I'm happy
With this uncovered face
With this "red tongue and green head", I declare again that I'm a "Rogue/Renegade"
Regardless, notice that I am happy

  • 1. A person with Khalaf makes for a good successor to a proud parent. In Persian, when they wanna make clear that one person is the "odd duck" or that their parents feel shame about them they call them "Naa-Khalaf". He denotes that despite his success and literal changes in Persian history, still his parents and society frown upon him simply because he is a Rapper (illegal) not a normal singer.
  • 2. Religious people care about Friday in Iran, they think it has religious significance.
  • 3. He knows that in the history, they will know he was the right partly who was wrongly exiled and punished for sticking to truth and rapping as the voice of people.
  • 4. This comes from a common saying that "A red (angry, rowdy, unknowingly open) tongue, will decapitate its green (good, healthy) head."
  • 5. Probably hints at his forced runaway from Iran like other rappers, they cannot feel safe anywhere and they cannot also fall back their their "home"/country.
  • 6. At the end of Persian tales, the speaker/author usually says "The story has ended, but the crow has yet to reach its house..." or "... didn't reach its house..." (ambiguous time in Persian) to inspire that "There are a lot of other tales to be told altho this one is over and one cannot know it all."
  • 7. May hint to "Boresh" where he finally takes a leap/jump off a building (spoilers). After in "Sooz" he realizes that "he needs to skip to the next world" and gives up on his "Adaption".

The second track/chapter of "A Good Mistake" Album/Book (to be listened to in consecutive order).
In here Bahram is very happy about the way that his story has unfolded and is glad that despite all his hardships. He is content and adapted. "Saaz" also means "Instrument" in Persian.
