It was so dirty, in fact, that it wasn't until the 20th century that a translation of it was made available to the general public, since it went against the idea most people had of ancient writers all writing only serious and philosophical pieces. The usage of this poem in the song, along with lines like "only alive enough to make the deadline" and "what will it take, what will it take for me to break and crank out-" (followed immediately by said dirty poem) gives more of an implication that the singer is writing only to please the general public, but wants to be able to write whatever they want, without worrying about being judged as a person by the contents of their work or their having work censored to make it easier to swallow. Of course, this is just my interpretation! And I just wanted to share the source of the Latin within the song, since it's pretty interesting to learn a bit about how historians and archaeologists can hide pieces of the past from the public for years just to not mess with the idea many people have of the cultures that came before ours.” ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ CREATOR COMMENT: “I may have a thing for people encountering demonic entities” ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ HL24
