A depression during an economic recession has occurred in different countries throughout the world. A famous song "Brother Can You Spare A Dime" is from The Great Depression. Today if someone is unemployed and intends to work it's 'getting unemployment', if it's no intention to work, or fully disabled (getting disability) it's 'on welfare'.
