Various versions in YouTube and UltimateGuitar have:
"Love me or hate me we will be *boys* standing at that altar" which of course is stupid if you're singing about marrying a daughter/girl.
Now you have "will be *both*..." which makes much more sense, but still the guy does seem to be singing a word with "oi" in it.
So I'm currently leaning towards the word "*poised* standing at that altar".
What do the people think?
