Fxxx you
Crawling on the ground because of you

複眼から落ちる涙

私らただ生きてる 私らただ生きてる
まるでコンテンツのように触られる心臓

今日の餌食は誰

愛 愛 愛 愛 愛したり 夢見たり 笑ってたいのに
だい だい だい だい 大好きに囲まれて ただ居たいのに
カースト下位だって あのトップスターだって
娯楽感覚で私らを喰う
嫌 嫌 嫌 嫌がって食べられるため
産まれたわけじゃない

こんな所で死にたいわけじゃない

Bizarre Food

“I really, really, really, hate this!”
There’s no way I was born just to say stuff like that.

Caught fresh this morning and still flailing around gaudily1
As soon as they’re placed on the table, the screaming starts.2

A heart artfully plated and served.
A nauseating caption.
A feeling like crucifixion.
Convictions. Convictions.3

We’re merely living. We’re merely living.
Our bodies and hearts are the exact same as yours.

Love, love, love, love
We long to love, dream, and smile, but –
So so so so much adoration smothers us.4
We just want to exist, but –

A practically mandatory spotlight,
Public exhibition under a microscope,
Eyes that appeared covered, yet are
burning with curiosity.

So someone so so so so repulsed can choke me down –
There’s no way I was born for that sake.

Fxxx you
Crawling on the ground because of you

Compound eyes
shedding tears

We’re merely living. We’re merely living.
Hearts groped over as if they were nothing but content.

Who’ll be prey today?

Love, love, love, love
We long to love, dream, and smile, but –
So so so so much adoration smothers us.
We just want to exist, but –
Whether you’re of the bottom caste,
Or the #1 trending celeb,
For a sense of amusement –
We’re devoured.

So someone so so so so repulsed can choke me down –
There’s no way I was born for that sake.

There’s no way I’d want to die somewhere like this.

  • 1. I briefly considered translating this as “TikTok dancing,” but I decided to go literal.
  • 2. The phrase “himei wo ageru” generally means “to let out a scream,” but it can also be used to mean someone is shrieking a complaint. I purposely made this line ambiguous as to whether the plated subject is screaming about being placed on the table, or someone else is screaming for whatever reason about what is being served.
  • 3. “Shinjou” means “thoughts, emotions, and feelings one holds deeply in their heart.” I went back and forth between the words convictions, sentiments, feelings, and emotions. Sentiments is probably a more perfect translation, but I hear it and think of the more flowery romantic definition before the “strongly held feeling” definition.
  • 4. “Kakomarete” literally means “surrounded/enclosed,” with a negative connotation. I could have also translated this as something like “Trapped and surrounded by ‘I love love love love you’s.”

"Getemono" usually refers to dishes of insects/animals/body parts found strange and repulsive by the speaker. You can do an image search for this if you want…
