Passing Through

*George Washington was the first president of the U.S. But before that he was one of the best generals in the army and led the American army to many victories in the Revolutionary War against Great Britain for the independence of the American colonies. Valley Forge is a town near Philadelphia Pennsylvania and Washington took his men to rest there after the Battle of White Marsh. The reason that this is such an important part of the Revolutionary War is because of the state of the soldiers. It was a harsh winter and the soldiers weren't well fed, ill-equipped and had worn out shoes (if any shoes at all). In fact their feet were so bad it's said they left bloody footprints in the snow
**Franklin Delano Roosevelt (also known as FDR) was the 32nd president of the U.S. and is a huge figure in the U.S. due to the fact that he was president during the Great Depression and World War 2. He's also known for his economic plan the New Deal which many Americans still believe to this day helped pull America out of the Great Depression. He spent a lot of his life in a wheelchair but the victory he won over the illness that took his ability to walk gave him such a presence that he left Americans feeling a sense of national pride even during hard times
***As for Giscard d'Estaing I'm told he was a former president of France who seemed to be involved in some serious scandals and big controversy.

Presque rien à redire, seulement un ou deux détails :)
"Un monde uni doit naître de ce carnage" --> 'A united world'
"Qu'on soit Russe, Noir ou Blanc, on a tous le même sang" --> 'For whether we're...', maybe?
"parler de notre destin" --> 'our destiny'
Merci!! J'ai corrigé tout :)
