Mina – «25» (1983)
25 is a studio album by the Italian singer Mina, released as a double LP and cassette tape in October of 1983 by PDU and distributed by EMI Italiana. It was digitally remastered and released as two separate CDs, titled Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 respectively, in 2001.
It consists of 21 songs in total, 13 of which are covers/adaptations. As with most of the singer's double albums, the first half includes the covers, whereas the second one is reserved for the inedited songs (the only exception being the last song Ahi, mi amor).
The title is a reference to the 25 years of Mina's career which began in 1958. This is the first of two albums in her discography that commemorate an anniversary, the second and last one being Ridi, pagliaccio from 1988, which celebrates 30 years of career. This is also the first out of four albums in a row whose songs were featured in the TV show Trent'anni della nostra storia ("Thirty Years of Our Story") broadcasted by RAI.
