Cold

Cold,
frozen in the walls of this place,
writing on the glass that's starting to steam up.

from the cold,
that's seeping in under the door.
I remember that once,
a siren brought my body to the sea.
She didn't think that I wouldn't be able to breathe,
she didn't think that I could drown.

I don't advise passions
that turn into possessions,
entirely a Winter, waiting for the Summer
to awaken and warm us both.

But there are no longer seasons,
just as there are no instructions for Love.
We only use our mouths to speak.
We only use our tongues to speak.
We can't even protect ourselves

from the Cold.
Seasons of silence draw near,
you're mistaken thinking the eroticism is going to end,
with this Cold that seeps to your bone, not saving you.

I remember I was once near to losing my identity,
and I was running instead of walking.
I was stumbling instead of evading.
I turned into a fugitive, just to feel alive.
a whole Winter, waiting for Summer
to awaken and warm us both.

But there are no longer seasons,
just as there are no instructions for Love.
We only use our mouths to speak.
We only use our tongues to speak,
and this Cold obliges us to end.

This song was particularly hard because some lines have so much meaning in so little space. This is the best I can do, and could surely be more poetic in English. I welcome edits!
