Shouldn't "nihilist" be 虚無主義者 [Kyomushugisha], or do Japanese people prefer to use ニヒリスト [Nihirisuto] for the sake of simplicity?
In terms of lyrics and non-formal circumstances, I'd say ニヒリスト is used more as a stylistic choice, compared to the more "proper" 虚無主義者.
I'd say the difference would be like using "happy" vs "elated", in a sense. One is more casual, the other would be used in something deemed as "fancier", haha.
