Sad
Are you sad from the rain, or sad from thirst, O bird?
For the sake of those two feathers that carry you, get away from my sight.
For the sake of the water, the salty water, the sad water - before you fly off,
prepare for the storm that is brewing in my veins.
For the sake of the branch, the feeble shadow and the gusty winds,
please do not conceal my star and the night overlies me.
You flutter, O pesky poor-feathered one, and the day is short.
Why is it that whenever your wings are heavy, you approach me by night.
I am not well, as you come across me, and you too are not well.
And I, O bird, have within me of sleeplessness that which suffices me.
Do you see, if you observe in me a great shadow and glory in the eyes of the people,
in fact, the possessions I carry are nothing but my wound and my dagger.
