Galen
Mad

The song contains a lot of slang which is new to me, like ’benim’, ’back’, ’tuggarna’, ’gitt’, ’yani’. I’ve tried to look up meanings of the words on the internet, but I might have misunderstood them. I even refrained from translating ’yani’ because I’m not sure what it means and how it’s used. So if I’m wrong on some point or you’ve got a better translation, please correct me! :)
*I translated ’svartskalle’ literally into ’blackhead’ because I don’t know an equivalent in English. It’s a racistic word for someone who is non-white, with dark hair and/or dark skin.
*’Hundår’ literally means ’dog years’.
*Listening to the song, I can’t decide if Fille sings ’långsynt’ or ’långsint’. The words have quite different meanings: långsynt means long-sighted while långsint means to be unforgiving, to remember for a long time if someone did you wrong.
*The ’chewers’, which is a literal translation from ’tuggarna’ can, as I have understood it, have the meaning ’drug addict’ (khat chewer) or bum, hobo, but it can also signify ’suburban kids’ or ’suburban people’, which I think is the meaning Ison & Fille intended. ’The suburbs’ in Swedish is not primarily associated with neat row-house or villa areas like in the US, but more similar to ’the projects’.
*The expression ’utanför tullarna’ means ’outside the customs stations’ and refers to Stockholm city, which is divided into the inner town, inside the customs stations, and the outside, being the suburbs.
The refrain ”svartskalle stoltast i staden, spritt språngande galen” is sampled from the song ”Dum av dig” by Daniel Adams-Ray, if anyone wanted to know.

Thank you so much! For one who is learning swedish, this kind of material is extremely helpful. I enjoy listening to swedish hip hop because it's the best! i've looked at these lyrics before, and after seeing this I have come away with new understanding. Tack så mycket brushan!
