The Chance

I need to get something off my chest this evening
Because you're haunting my mind
Since the day you stood in the hall
I know you were always sensitive
That this was not really the intention
I need to talk to you this evening
We have never gotten the time
But know that something is going on

If you want to give me the chance
To say what I feel for you
I will take you to eighty cities
Only when you trust me enough
I don't think about what comes tomorrow
Because that's not the point right now
Because I want to give you everything
If you want to give me, if you want to give me the chance
If you want to give me the chance
If you want to give me, if you want to give me the chance

I can tell by that look in your eyes
You are longing for that day
But expect me to step towards you
Because you need me
We've been avoiding it for years
When will you and me become a two?
Because I can tell by that look in your eyes
We can take the time now
We know something is going on

If you want to give me the chance
To say what I feel for you
I will take you to eighty cities
Only when you trust me enough
I don't think about what comes tomorrow
Because that's not the point right now
Because I want to give you everything
If you want to give me, if you want to give me the chance

When we leave you will see that I'm honest
Let's check if it clicks and if you'll get used to me
I don't care where we go
As long as you're with me
Because I want to give you everything, if you want to give me the chance
If you want to give me, if you want to give me the chance
Because I want to give you everything, if you want to give me the chance

'when will you and me become a two' is the literal translation into English. In the sense of the context, a 'two' refers to a pair, but because FLEMMING has chosen this way of phrasing for the Dutch version I've also chosen to literally translate it into English.
'Wanneer wordt jij en ik een twee' contains a grammatical mistake. FLEMMING has probably chosen 'wordt' instead of 'worden' to make the sentence shorter so that the rhythm and the lyrics keep their consistencies. I have translated the good spelling into English.
'We draaien er al jarenlang omheen' literally translates to 'We have been spinning around it for years', but it is a Dutch saying which translates to avoiding something. I have chosen for the translation of the context instead of the literal translation.
