A few months ago, our president seemed positively shocked when people started wearing funny attire, blocking crossroads and roaming the boulevards yelling blue murder at him. It rather seems to me the writing had been on the wall for quite some time. Then again, maybe he doesn't listen to the same kind of music as me.
Living in a country led by a flabbergasted CEO while jacked off people mill around in the street every weekend is a bit of a drag, I can tell you. This really has to stop! I've been thinking for a while of a way to restore social peace. And then it struck me.
Surely things would soon get better if the higher ups got at least a notion of what goes through the minds of all these annoying complainers all over the world?
However, building a summary of worldwide causes for discontent is a daunting task.
That's why I decided to call upon your help, my fellow LT users.
Here are the rules of the game:
- Pick a song dealing with social issues. The kind that might eventually drive people into the street.
- Select a few lines of the lyrics that might give an idea of the issue (these busy people would want some kind of executive summary, you see).
- Provide an English translation if possible (your own or one from the existing versions)
- As long as new suggestions keep coming, I'll limit the entries to one song per author, just to keep it as varied as possible. You can suggest more than one song of the same author, I'll try to add them once the list stabilizes.

The juridical system is based on Napoleon and the penal code is the only thing by which the government believes to handle some problems. I am wondering that the (rural) has not opposed beforehand,

That is very nice! Yeah, Vian is an interesting character. Le Deserter is a better choice. Also Hangdog Waltz is a great song, and didn't think of it.
