Очі розпечену магму ллють,
Губи тремтять потворно —
Сліпа та безсила лють
Прийшла і взяла за горло.
І став я малим та чорним
Голодним вороном.
І сиджу на березі та каркаю,
Докоряю, караю й кричу,
І людей проклинаю та картаю,
Що не можу наїстися досхочу,
І чорнію, марнію та худну,
І благаю щодня про одне:
— Пожалійте, змилуйтесь, люди,
Нагодуйте мене!..
The Crow
The eyes look like hot magma baths,
Lips quiver with an ugly note -
Blind and powerless is the wrath
It came and took me by the throat.
And I turned into a black
A small but hungry crow.
And I sit on the shore and croak,
I scold, reproach and shout,
And I curse and rebuke every folk,
That I cannot gorge myself all out
And I blacken, get thin and decay,
Have pity, have mercy, heed me -
That's what I beg every day -
Please feed me!..
