"Moscow"1" burned down and sunk,
"Moscow" went to feed the sharks
Everything has happened, but this has never happened before -
Well, that's all - people cried a little and forgot.
And they are told about this,
That there was simply a fire on board.
And on their RusTV they've again
Started their stupid fairy story time.
But keep up your optimism,
Because there's a certain symbolism here.
One Moscow has gone to the bottom of the sea -
And the other one's going to follow suit.
"Moscow" burned down and sunk,
"Moscow" went to feed the sharks
Everything has happened, but this has never happened before -
Well, that's all - people cried a little and forgot.
All is well that ends well,
May the old useless stuff burn.
And keep up your optimism,
Because there's a certain symbolism here.
And remember the proverb:
"When the house has burned down, may the barn burn as well!"
"Moscow" burned down and sunk,
"Moscow" went to feed the sharks
Everything has happened, but this has never happened before -
Well, that's all - people cried a little and forgot.
That's all - people cried a little and forgot.
- 1. The "Moskva", the flagship of the Russian Black Sea fleet, which sunk after being hit by Ukrainian missiles. In Russian (and the other Slav languages) "Moskva" (pronounced "Maskvá" in Russian, hence the title of this song) denotes both the city of Moscow and the river Moskva.

Long before the "Moscow", there was the "Kursk" (where the Ukrainians were probably not implied, although the Russian TV probably will tell us the contrary), when The Russian dictator quietly let 118 Russian sailors die. What does he care ? They died for the Holy Fatherland, so everybody is happy.
Yep, you're perfectly right, of course. But then, that was a submarine, and it was not the flagship of a fleet. And it was not hit by a missile, but just sank "on its own".
