Mojito

Mojito

Into two tall glasses only
lime with mint-leaves
Press gently and crush
You won't forget this night
Add sugar moderately
that makes life sweet
it needs what you are seeing1
there is some ice for cooling

Although heart beats like a drum
pour the white rum out
[we] don't hurry in excess
let it flow slowly
in the end, some sparkling water
must be poured because
the situation is hot anyway
all the room is highly inflammable

It all is again exactly like
I recall from that time
when everything began and how it all
once started

Your buttons were opened up to heaven
all the stars fell on us
Not anyhow was I able to understand2
Not mine or your hands could stay put
From that night till now
you and mojito get me crazy3
oooh

Alone in a corner, in a dimly lit one
a TV-screen blinks
Through open windows
the moon brings the light
You move to my side
impudently slowly
You are a teaser
I know waiting pays off

It all is again exactly like
I recall from that time
when everything begun and how it all
once started

Your buttons were opened up to heaven
all the stars fell on us
Not anyhow was I able to understand
Hands of neither could stay put
From that night till now
you and mojito get me crazy3
oooh

  • 1. were there 'seda' pro 'selle' it would make more sense, "you should need..." / what you are seeing is needful"... but if I try to read reallllly into the original aka mishear the rhythm, it could be "IT NEEDS WHAT YOU SEE", they should have just used 'sellel(e)' pro 'selle'
  • 2. or if you want to stick with the fact that it says 'väel' then "not by any force was I able to understand"
  • 3. a. b. if I look closely at this interpuncuation, these two lines would be more like "from this night till now I [am followed? by]... you and mojito will be mixed"
