1. A reference to Iben Nagel Rasmussen, the girlfriend of lead singer Eik Skaløe during the 1960s.
2. A reference to the masters of Tibetan Buddhism, not to be confused with the animal, the llama.
3. A certain type of ship used around the Mediterranean during the 16th century
4. A Greenlandic-Danish polar explorer (1879-1933).
5. A reference to the Danish entrepeneur Simon Spies (1921-1984), who founded the travel company Spies Rejser, i.e. Spies Travels.

Eik Skaløe (1943-1968), the lead singer of Steppeulvene, had been a heavy user of drugs during his short life, especially psychedelics and marijuana. He had hoped that a trip to Nepal could make him quit the drugs, but unfortunately he never made it that far. Ironically, albeit tragically, on his way overland to Nepal he commited suicide on the border between India and Pakistan, blaming "the cruel person inside me" for his death and asking for foregiveness in his suicide note.
