Vor vielen langen Jahren, da lebte ein Vulkan.
Er war ganz allein, dort im weiten Ozean,
Und in seiner Bucht sah er, die Pärchen spielen froh im Meer.
Er wünschte sich, nicht allein zu sein.
Aus seiner Lava klang ein Hoffnungslied, dass er sang, ganz laut, jeden Tag,
Jahr ein und Jahr aus.
Ich hab'n Traum, und hoff er wird wahr
dass du bei mir bist, ach wärst du nur da!
Ich wünscht, dass die Erde, der Himmel, das Meer
mir meine Träume erfüllen
Jahre sang er ganz allein, seine Lava wurd zu Stein
und ihm stand das Wasser bis hinauf zum Hals.
Doch leider wusst er nicht - unter Wellen und Dickicht
hörte ein weiblicher Vulkan dieses schöne Lied.
Jedes mal wenn er es sang, stieg ihre Lava an,
denn sie glaubte fest er singt das Lied für sie.
Sie wollte ihn endlich sehen, der Dunkelheit hier entfliehen
und er sang sein Hoffnungslied zum letzten Mal.
Ich hab'n Traum, und hoff er wird wahr
dass du bei mir bist, ach wärst du nur da!
Ich wünscht, dass die Erde, der Himmel, das Meer
mir meine Träume erfüllen
Vor ihm stand, man glaubt es kaum, ein Vulkan so wie im Traum
und sie sah sich um doch konnte ihn nicht sehen
Er dachte wenn ich schön laut sing, dann weiß sie, dass ich auch hier bin
doch ohne Lava kam kein Ton heraus.
Er sank in ein Tränenmeer und ihm war das Herz so schwer
doch sie erinnert sich, was er einst sang...

Endlich waren sie vereint, sie thronten hoch im Sonnenschein
und vor Glück wuchs ihre Lava mehr und mehr.
Die Einsamkeit ist jetzt vorbei, im alloohaa sind sie daheim,
und wenn du sie besuchst, singen sie ihr Lied:

And the water stood up to his neck.
But unfortunately he didn’t know - under the waves and the grove
A female volcano heard his2 pretty song.
Each time he sang,3 her lava rose,
Because she firmly believed he sang the song for her.
She wanted to finally see him, escape the darkness here,
And he sang his song of hope for the last time.

Before him stood - he4 could hardly believe it - a volcano just like in a dream
And she looked around her but couldn’t see him
